Reza Baluchi Confirmed as Runner for Team NPCO for Chiropractic!

Elite runner Reza Baluchi will be running with Team NPCO in support of Chiropractic healthcare in this year's Chicago Marathon. On August 16, Baluchi will be running from LA to NY in an attempt to break the World Record.

DAVENPORT, IA, August 12, 2009 /Iowa PR News/ -- Non-Profit Chiropractic Organization(NPCO) is proud to announce that it has officially confirmed world-renowned runner, Reza Baluchi, as a member of their team for this October's Bank of America Chicago Marathon. A life-long fan and supporter of Chiropractic, Baluchi will be running the streets of Chicago promoting Team NPCO for Chiropractic and his upcoming Run Around the World, kicking off later this year.

No stranger to the world of running, Baluchi is known for his Los Angeles, California to Ground Zero (New York) run in 2003 that he dubbed Run 4 Peace, a journey that covered 3,720 miles over a period of 124 days. In 2008, Baluchi ran the perimeter of the United States (11,500 miles) in 202 days, averaging 57 miles per day.

"I love running, it allows me to reach out to people around the world and help everyone unite for a common cause: peace. Running is my release and some days you will find me running just 25-35 miles, other days I run 55-70 miles and on my long runs, you can find me running close to 100 miles per day," Iranian born Baluchi explains.

NPCO President, Joshua Heines, adds "we are extremely honored to have, literally, one of the best runners in the world leading Team NPCO for Chiropractic this October 11th in Chicago. Reza, who has spent years running distances most people would consider impossible, runs in the name of peace and the determination to make the world a better place. He is a perfect fit to lead our team of 82 runners as they run to spread awareness and the need for Chiropractic care around the world."

When asked how he can run for such long periods of times, Baluchi explains it is his motivation and willpower to help those less fortunate around the world and that is exactly why he is interested in running with Team NPCO. He quickly adds that he is also a huge fan of Chiropractic and says that he would not be able to endure his long runs without the Chiropractors that take care of him at the end of his long days.

"I always have Chiropractors that come meet me along my long routes and some of them run with me. They give me extra energy while making my body perform at its' peak. We all share the same goal of spreading the message of peace and harmony," Baluchi says.

Before running for Team NPCO in Chicago, Baluchi will be running yet again from Los Angeles, California to New York, New York in 45 days or less with the hopes of breaking the Guinness Book of World Record time of 47 days starting August 16.

Following his participation in October's Chicago Marathon, Baluchi will begin his journey of a lifetime, a dream that is going to be fully realized: running across the world, through a total of 194 countries. His journey will take five years to complete and will be documented by a film crew and streamed live on his website, www.runwithreza.org.

"Some have called me a robot," Baluchi laughs and then adds "and I tell them I am a robot running for peace."
